Accessibility
Vientiane Pharmaceuticals works to make its corporate, technical, and legal pages clear, navigable, and readable across diverse screen sizes, input devices, and assistive technologies.
Last updated:
1. Semantic structure and responsive reading
Every page on vientianepharmaceuticals.com is built with semantic HTML landmarks (<header>, <nav>, <main>, <section>, and <footer>), a hierarchical heading outline, and descriptive link text. Layouts adapt fluidly from widescreen desktop monitors down to 360px mobile viewports, and text can be enlarged using standard browser zoom controls without horizontal clipping.
Meaningful scene illustrations include descriptive alternative text (alt attributes) summarizing their visual content, while purely decorative icons and section dividers are marked with empty alt="" or aria-hidden="true" so they do not clutter screen-reader output. The website is also completely readable when JavaScript is disabled.
2. Keyboard navigation and focus states
A “Skip to content” link is provided as the first interactive element on every page, allowing keyboard and screen-reader users to bypass repeated navigation links and jump directly to #main-content. All links, disclosure summaries, and buttons are operable via keyboard and display a high-contrast focus outline when navigated with the Tab key.
The responsive mobile navigation menu uses a native <details> and <summary> disclosure pattern enhanced to close automatically when the Escape key is pressed, returning keyboard focus cleanly to the menu button. Similarly, the privacy preference modal uses a native <dialog> element with accessible labeling and focus restoration.
3. Visual contrast and motion controls
Typography uses legible system font stacks paired with high-contrast deep slate ink (#103c48) on warm paper and white surfaces. The stylesheet also includes support for the prefers-contrast: more media query to further strengthen text and border contrast for users who request increased contrast at the operating-system level.
Subtle floating motion on the homepage hero illustration can be paused immediately using the on-page “Pause motion” button, and all CSS animations and transitions are automatically disabled whenever your browser or operating system reports prefers-reduced-motion: reduce.
4. Ongoing evaluation and limitations
Because browsers, operating systems, and assistive technologies evolve continuously, we phrase our accessibility work as an ongoing commitment rather than claiming formal third-party accessibility certification or guaranteed compatibility with every hardware and software combination.
Whenever new pages, illustrations, or interface components are added to vientianepharmaceuticals.com, we review heading hierarchy, keyboard reachability, color contrast, and responsive behavior down to small mobile screens.
5. How to report an accessibility barrier
If you encounter any difficulty reading or navigating a page on this website, please email [email protected] with the page URL, what you were trying to read or accomplish, and a brief description of the issue. If you are comfortable sharing your browser, operating system, or assistive technology type, that technical context can help us reproduce and fix the problem.
