Privacy Policy
This notice explains information handling across vientianepharmaceuticals.com and its general electronic mail contact route. Please read it alongside our Cookies & Preferences notice.

1. Who this notice covers
In this Privacy Policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean the administrator of vientianepharmaceuticals.com. Vientiane Pharmaceuticals is the project name used for a proposed future pharmaceutical manufacturing and supply facility in Vientiane, Lao PDR. Reference to the intended project city does not identify an operating factory, a public visitor facility, a registered office, or a separate legal entity.
For privacy questions or requests concerning correspondence you have sent to us, contact [email protected]. Please identify the relevant email thread or issue clearly so your request can be reviewed and addressed appropriately.
2. Information involved when you visit
When your browser requests an HTML page, stylesheet, script, or local vector illustration from vientianepharmaceuticals.com, standard network and HTTP protocol data is exchanged with the hosting infrastructure. This technical data may include your IP address, the requested URL path, the date and time of the request, HTTP response status, user-agent string, and cryptographic parameters required to establish a secure TLS connection. Hosting and network security systems may record routine operational or error logs to maintain availability and defend against abuse.
This website is strictly static and self-contained. It has no user accounts, login portals, interactive web forms, e-commerce checkouts, third-party fonts, external content delivery networks, advertising pixels, or behavioral analytics trackers. All visual assets are served directly from the same origin, and we do not build visitor profiles or track browsing across websites.
3. Information you choose to email
Contact links on this website use standard mailto: links pointing to [email protected]. Selecting an email link opens your configured email client; no message is transmitted automatically by the website. If you choose to send an email, we receive your email address, display name, message body, metadata headers, and any attachments you include.
We encourage strict data minimization in all correspondence. Provide only the professional information necessary to explain your corporate, technical, or website inquiry. Please do not send patient medical records, clinical histories, symptoms, prescriptions, national identity documents, passport copies, financial account credentials, or proprietary trade secrets through this general contact channel.
4. Purposes and permissions
Technical log data and voluntary email correspondence may be used to respond to your inquiry, maintain a record of professional discussions you initiated, administer and secure the website, diagnose technical faults, prevent fraud or network misuse, and comply with applicable legal obligations. Visiting the website or sending an inquiry does not subscribe you to a mailing list or authorize unrelated marketing communications.
Where applicable data protection law requires a specific legal basis—such as legitimate interests in operating a secure informational website and answering professional correspondence, compliance with a legal duty, or your consent—processing is conducted within those boundaries. The optional browser preference described below involves a distinct, local interface choice and does not constitute consent to any tracking or personal data processing.
5. Optional browser preference
If you select “Remember for 6 months” on the privacy notice banner or preference dialog, the website stores a single entry named vp_privacy_notice_v1 in your browser’s localStorage. That entry records only a format version number (version: 1) and a numeric expiration timestamp (expiresAt) set 180 days in the future. It contains no personal identifier, IP address, or tracking token, and our client-side script never transmits the value over the network.
Selecting “Continue without saving” removes any existing vp_privacy_notice_v1 entry and hides the notice for the current page view only. You may also clear a saved preference at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer. See our Cookies & Preferences page for complete technical details.
6. Service providers and location
Website hosting, domain routing, security filtering, and electronic mail delivery may involve infrastructure service providers processing technical data or messages strictly as needed to perform their operational functions. Information may also be disclosed if required by applicable law, court order, or competent authority, or when reasonably necessary to investigate security incidents and protect legal rights. We never sell, rent, or trade visitor or correspondent information.
Depending on the hosting and email infrastructure used by the administrator, technical processing and message storage may take place in jurisdictions outside your country of residence or outside Lao PDR. You may contact the email address above for information relevant to your correspondence.
7. Retention, security, and requests
We retain email correspondence and operational records only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purpose of the communication, maintain appropriate institutional continuity, and satisfy applicable legal or archival requirements. Unsolicited sensitive material sent contrary to our guidelines may be deleted promptly. The optional browser preference expires after 180 days and is automatically purged by the site script upon your next visit after expiration.
While we implement strict content security policies and minimize data collection, no internet transmission or electronic mail system can be guaranteed to be completely immune from interception or error. Depending on applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or restriction of personal information you have provided to us, or object to certain processing. We may request proportionate verification of your identity before acting on a request and will respond in accordance with applicable law. You also retain the right to lodge a concern with a competent data protection authority.
8. Policy updates
We may revise this Privacy Policy as the website or the proposed project evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates the effective revision. Any material change to how information or browser storage is handled will be reflected in an updated policy before new practices take effect.
